The health of Puget Sound has been a primary focus of the Seattle 4 Rotary Environment Committee for some time.
- Our members have collaborated with People for Puget Sound in work parties to re-establish wildlife habitat at Herring's House Park (on the Duwamish) in order to support the ecological balance and feed clean water to the Sound.
- We've supported the great educational efforts of Salish Sea Expeditions as they give Seattle schoolchildren opportunities for hands-on learning - in sailboats! - about the science and preservation of the Sound.
- We've contributed to the production of Seattle Aquarium's environmental conservation deck, a take-home guide for visitors to Window on Washington Waters.
On May 6, 2009, the Committee is sponsoring the featured speaker on the club program: David Dicks, Executive Director of the Puget Sound Partnership, will talk about the PSP's Action Agenda.
And more to come...
